Q) Can I apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship?
A) Participation in the Viewfinder Master Course is possible as a self-funded student. Viewfinder was sponsored by the EACEA - Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission - during the first three editions. The fourth edition is exclusively for self-funded students.

Q) How can I find out if my degree is eligible or not?
A) Viewfinder accepts degrees which are equivalent with European Qualification Framework Level 6 (or higher). You can find out about your degree's eligibility on this website: http://qsearch.qqi.ie/WebPart/Search?searchtype=recognitions

Q) How can I apply as an ongoing student if my diploma is due latest by 30 July 2020?
A) Apply for a certification of your expected diploma at the educational institution that will issue it. Remember to include exact dates of your study period and of the expected graduation.

Q) Due to slow administrative processes my diploma cannot be authorised/legalized in the required way (Embassy/Apostille seal) before the application deadline. What can I do?
A) Apply for a certified copy of the original document at the educational institution that issued the diploma and upload this copy in your application. Please note that you can only enrol if you can present the legalized diploma certificates.

Q) What counts as a certified copy of the original document?
A)  Certified copies are photocopies of original documents that are certified with a stamp and signature to confirm that the copies are true to the originals. New date of the certification must be included.

Q) My degree and its English translation consist of several separate pages, how can I upload them as one document?
A) You can combine your scanned pages into one pdf file – e.g. on this website: https://combinepdf.com/

Q) Is my English language certificate issued before January 2018 acceptable?
A) No, you are required to take a new test.

Q) Can I take an English test after the application deadline?
A) No, we cannot accept late certificates. Based on our negative experience with late language certificate issuesin the previous years, we cannot make any exception.

Q) The language of instruction at my higher educational institution was English but I do not have any language certificates. Can I apply?
A) Only applicants who have completed their previous levels of education or their previous studies fully in English in the United States, Canada, the Commonwealth of Australia, New Zealand or the EU/EEA countries(attested proof from the previous educational institution required), will be exempted from submitting an international language test as a proof of their English proficiency. Apply for some form of certification from your educational institution denoting your good language skills. The certificate should indicate that the language of instruction was English. Please also describe your language situation in the given field of the on-line application.

Q) My CV/Letter of Motivation etc. does not fit in the given fields in the on-line application. What can I do?
A) You should edit/shorten your data so that it will fit. Include only the most important information. The given character limit cannot be changed.

Q) Can I submit a 10-min application video compiled of some short extracts from different films?
A) Yes, we accept a selection of your best works as a DoP.

Q) What minimum duration must the application film have?
A) There is no required minimum duration.

Q) What exactly does the following requirement mean? "considerable and verifiable experience in the camera/lighting department with some credits as a DOP"
A) The applicant's film submission must make mention of them in the headline/final credits as the DoP/camera/videography. IMDB registration would be helpful for verification purposes, but it is not required.

Q) I do not have a BA degree in cinematography or photography or general film studies with the required specialization/major but I have a BA degree in another field and I have participated in film workshops/courses other than BA/MA course and/or worked as director/editor/assistant/etc. for video/film/tv productions. Am I eligible to apply?
A) The applicant's film submission must make mention of them in the headline/final credits as the DoP/camera/videography. IMDB registration would be helpful for verification purposes, but it is not required.
